My name is Zabrina Peters, and I live here in Hawai‘i. I’m creating this fundraiser for my sister-in-law, Tuli, and her family of seven.
Tuli and her family just went through something no family is ever prepared for.
During the recent Kona Low storm here in Hawaii, what started as heavy rain quickly turned into flooding. Within hours, their home was overwhelmed, and so much of what they had worked for was lost.
They lost furniture, beds, clothes, appliances — and even more heartbreaking, things that can’t be replaced like kids’ keepsakes and sentimental belongings.
And as if that wasn’t enough, both of their cars were flooded too. Water got inside, leaving them without reliable transportation.
Her husband works in town, their oldest daughter goes to school an hour away, and my sister-in-law works as well — so getting around isn’t optional. Right now, they’re having to rent a car just to keep up with daily life, and that cost adds up quickly on top of everything else they’re facing.
Their home is now in need of major repairs, and until it’s done they risk the possibility of mold — especially in this humid Hawai‘i weather. They’re trying to figure out what comes next while also holding it together for their 5 kids.
Right now, they just want to make sure their kids feel safe and okay… but the reality is, starting over like this is overwhelming.
So I’m asking for them.
All funds raised will go directly to Tuli and her family to help cover:
• A safe place to stay
• Replacing essentials (clothes, beds, shoes, school supplies)
• Cleanup and repairs
• Transportation costs (rental car due to flood damage)
• Basic needs for their family as they navigate the next few weeks
Every dollar will go toward helping them rebuild their home and regain stability after this devastating loss.
Anything helps—really.
And if you’re not able to donate, sharing this would mean so much to our family.
Hawaii is such a strong community, and right now they truly need that support.
Thank you for showing up for them
