Hi everyone,
I'm starting a fundraiser for my dog Tucker, who was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease.
Since his diagnosis, I’ve been doing everything I can to stabilize his condition. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the disease and the stage it was identified at, Tucker will need to be on daily medications for the rest of his life in order to live comfortably. Over the past few weeks, he has undergone extensive care including blood tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, medications, prescription kidney diet food, and multiple vet visits to monitor and stabilize his condition.
So far, these treatments have cost over $4000 and it will reach up to $5000 in the coming months with the monthly meds and some additional testing he will need. I've added a couple of the invoices to give an example of what the expenses look like.
Because this all happened suddenly, the expenses were far beyond what I was financially prepared for. Not only was it expensive, but it impacted my work since I had to be with Tucker 24/7 for two weeks administering IV fluids and meds at home to ensure a smooth recovery. Suffice to say that I've been left struggling under a growing amount of debt and the most difficult financial situation I’ve ever faced.
Tucker is incredibly important to me and has been by my side since he was a puppy in New York, to an adult in Arizona, and now an elder in California. We’ve been through so much together, and I just want to continue giving him the good life he deserves. Thankfully, the treatments have helped, and his doctors are confident he still has many happy years ahead as long as he remains on his treatment plan. But the reality is that the financial strain has been overwhelming to the point where I may not be able to continue to afford it without some assistance.
I’m asking for help to soften the vet bills and medication costs needed to manage his condition.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this would help more than you know.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Tucker’s story and for any support you can offer.
