Help Support Slow To Rise Bakery After Fire.

Tucker and Kat are 2 great young people who have literally put their life savings to make their dream a reality. They were 2 days away from opening. They have lost everything! Including the hundreds of bagels that were waiting to be baked off to sell on opening day.
Their Story -
Slow to Rise Bakery is a small bakery on Nantucket owned and operated by Tucker Puljic & Katrina Newfrock, known for their NY-style bagels, unique cookies, and sourdough focaccia. After years of switching kitchens, weekly farmer's markets, and popups throughout the island, they had finally found a retail location, and put in many hours of work to transform the former Fast Forward coffee shop and create a cafe and storefront to sell their bagels and baked goods.
However, on Sunday, May 18th, tragedy struck and a fire broke out at 1 Cherry Street, just 2 days before opening day.
Why we're raising funds:
Although there were no injuries or structural damage due to the fire, there was a significant amount of smoke and water damage. It initially seemed that there only needed to be a significant amount of cleaning, but following professional assessments, unfortunately the entire interior of the building needs to be gutted and completely rebuilt. A fire insurance policy will cover some of the damage to the interior of the building, but this GoFundMe was created to provide relief for all the other materials that were lost in the fire - equipment, dry goods, and supplies, as well as to cover some of the expenses that came with getting the building revamped and ready to open as a bakery/cafe. The first donation of $5000 will be matched by an anonymous donor.
