Meet Tucker.

Tucker came into this world early, at just 32 weeks and 1 day, after a dramatic emergency birth. He weighed only 3 lbs 15 oz, and because of his prematurity and sudden delivery, his tiny brain likely experienced a lack of oxygen and blood flow — the most common cause of cerebral palsy in preemies. Tucker hit his early milestones until six months old, when everything changed. He was diagnosed with infantile spasms, followed by quadriplegic cerebral palsy, cortical visual impairment, epilepsy, and speech delay.

Since then, Tucker has worked tirelessly. Through therapy intensives, stem cell treatments, functional neurology, and ongoing daily therapy, he continues to show us every day what courage and determination truly look like. He doesn’t walk or talk yet, but he is the happiest little boy. He loves Mickey Mouse, counting, music, and being around people. Most of all, he inspires everyone who meets him with his strength and joy.

Over the years, we have seen meaningful progress from intensive therapies, and we are preparing for another opportunity during the first week of June — a functional neurology intensive that includes laser light therapy in Atlanta. We have already been blessed to secure the funds for the therapy itself, which we are incredibly thankful for. However, we quickly realized the cost of staying in Atlanta for the week is much higher than expected — around $1,600 for lodging alone. As many therapy families know, travel expenses often become the biggest hurdle.

We originally started a Support Now page, and it worked great for those familiar with the platform. But we also felt some people were deterred simply because they weren’t sure how to use it. Because of that, we created this GoFundMe as a simpler way for anyone who wants to help. It’s brand new, but it supports the exact same goal — helping Tucker get to therapy and continue pushing forward.

To put it into perspective, if just 100 people gave $16, we would reach our lodging goal. Every small amount truly adds up and helps make this trip possible.

We are also selling Tucker T-shirts to help offset travel costs, and that fundraiser is pinned at the top of our Facebook page for anyone interested.

None of these therapies or travel expenses are covered by insurance, but they are essential for Tucker’s continued progress and quality of life. Every donation, prayer, and share helps Tucker take another step forward. Even if you can’t donate, sharing his story helps us reach someone who can.
