Tsegabe Yerome is a 3-year-old child in Ethiopia who has been diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a highly curable cancer if treated early. As a former medical doctor from Ethiopia, I know firsthand how financial barriers can turn treatable illnesses into profound tragedies. Although I do not know Tsegabe or his family personally, hearing his story through the medical community deeply moved me, and I felt a human obligation to act.
Tsegabe’s father is an Ethiopian physician, and despite his medical background, the staggering cost of specialized oncology care in Ethiopia is an impossible hurdle for their family. It is heartbreaking that a child who could easily be cured elsewhere faces a life-threatening future simply due to geography. The funds raised will help cover medical treatment, transportation, and hospital stay, giving Tsegabe a fighting chance at recovery.
Galatians 6:2 says, 'Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.' This perfectly captures the spirit of community action—taking a piece of someone else's heavy load so they don't have to carry it alone. Your generosity can save Tsegabe’s life. Please donate and share this fundraiser to help give hope to Tsegabe and his family.
