Hello,

This is Vicki and Larry Burghdoff. We live in Southwest Lower Michigan. As we watch the US Congress struggle to get a funding bill passed to pay the TSA employees, our hearts go out to the dedicated individuals who are reporting to work every day without getting paid. These folks are not high-paid employees, and many do not have savings or resources to draw on during this time.

We want to help the TSA employees get through this time by providing gas/gift cards to them. We have found that there are approximately 170 TSA employees at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport alone, and we are working to find the number at the Kalamazoo airport.

We want to raise enough money to gift each employee a $50 card, so we are initially targeting a $10,300 goal.

$10,300 because GoFundMe will charge 3% of the money raised. After that, 100% of the rest will be distributed to the TSA employees.

If you have read this far, we are hoping you are inclined to help us in our goal and would be willing to contribute to the cause. To get this started, we are contributing $1,000 of our own money, and we hope that gets the ball rolling in a hurry.
