I’m Truth (they/them), and I am raising funds for Pride House Tokyo, as I pursue my 5th World Marathon Major and run the Tokyo Marathon. As a competitive trans and non-binary athlete, I know what it’s like to run under the weight of a changing world.

From media features in Runner’s World and The New York Times, parts of my journey have been uplifted and celebrated. I’ve been the subject of both visibility and erasure. I was on the first non-binary team to ever win the Boston Marathon, and I am on track to be one of the first trans non-binary athletes to complete all seven World Marathon Majors.

Pride House is an incredible organization that supports LGBTQ+ athletes worldwide, ensuring safety and support for queer and allied athletes globally.

As I continue to advocate for young athletes around the world who just want to be allowed to run as themselves, I’m seeking support from the community that has uplifted me again and again. Running has made me the composer, writer, educator, and human I am today. I hope you’ll help me make this reality true by sending the message loud and clear that trans and nonbinary people belong in sports.

With every run, I hear rhythms over my own heartbeat. Each race inspires my next song, which propels me over the next finish line, to the next race, to the next song. Thank you for helping me create this long, winding, and beautiful song.
