Help Truck Driver Devin
Donation protected
Devin was on the road for most of the pandemic, doing what he loved, driving trucks. He was proud to be a part of the process of keeping the US supply chain going until he started experiencing double vision. For the safety of all, he took himself off the road in March of 2021, and made what would be the first of many doctors visits before being diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer. He immediately began chemotherapy and radiation, but tests now show that cancer has spread to his spine and brain.
Since Devin, who is only 29, can no longer work or care for himself, his mother Angela has been his primary caregiver. Angela initially entered into a work-from-home agreement, which allowed her to bring him back and forth for daily chemo, radiation, and pain medication treatments. But because Devin's condition has deteriorated quickly and he now requires around-the-clock care. Angela had to take a leave-of-absence from her job, and in doing so, exhausted all of her leave time.
Even with insurance, the financial burden of treatments, doctors visits, and hospital stays not covered have been overwhelming. Doing so without any income has been extremely challenging. The doctors have decided the current treatments are not working and are looking into getting Devin into a trial. It has only been a few months since his initial diagnosis and treatment plans, and now we are making adjustments and researching all available treatments available to him.
Devin lost his battle to cancer!!! Any donations help with his medical bills and burial.
