Troy is a disabled combat veteran who has always faced life’s challenges with courage and resilience. Now, he’s in the midst of his toughest battle yet: Stage 4 lung cancer. His treatment plan is intense, involving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted brain radiation. On top of the physical and emotional toll, Troy’s finances are stretched thin, as he relies on his service-connected disability for support.
Despite these hardships, Troy’s spirit remains strong, fueled by the love and encouragement family, friends and most of all his girlfriend, Mikayla, who lives near Perth, Australia. Their relationship has thrived across continents, with countless messages and video calls, but they haven’t been able to share real moments together in person.
Troy’s dream is simple but deeply meaningful—to visit Mikayla and create memories in some of Western Australia’s most beautiful places. He hopes to explore the crystal-blue waters and unique wildlife of Rottnest Island, take in the stunning scenery and waterfalls around the Perth Hills and Serpentine National Park, and watch the sunrise and sunset along the coast at Cottesloe Beach. Nothing extravagant—just moments that matter finding joy, connection, and beauty in the world and experience.
We’re hoping to raise enough to cover Troy’s travel costs and make this trip possible. Any support—whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser—will help Troy and Mikayla finally spend time together and bring hope during a difficult chapter. Thank you for reading and for any help you can offer.
