Not something anyone wants to be told through the holidays that one of your family members has been taken into the hospital, only to find out that they have a rare artery tear!

I am fundraising for my father, Troy Kehl.

Recently, our world turned upside down when Troy suffered a torn artery, a very rare and dangerous medical emergency. He went into the hospital due to raging pain in his side, only to be told after X-ray and CAT scans that he would spend days in the ICU, fighting through pain and uncertainty as doctors worked to find solutions for him.

Last week, he was finally released to come home, but his recovery is far from over. Troy is now supposed to be on bed rest for weeks and is in and out of the hospital for closely monitored appointments because the injury is still healing. He is constantly in pain, not feeling well, and still at risk if anything worsens.

Even after doctors told him he shouldn’t work for weeks — possibly months — Troy is the kind of man who keeps pushing forward. He has already gone back to work too soon, trying to provide for his home and keep up with bills, despite the pain and risk of making his condition worse.

Right now, the most important thing he needs is the ability to rest and heal safely.
