“Help Troy Get a Kidney, Safe Housing Near Dialysis, and a Second Chance at Life”
My name is Cheri, and I am asking for help for my husband, Troy, who is 54 years young and fighting for his life while waiting for a kidney transplant and undergoing regular dialysis. We have been married for over 25 years and have built a life and family together with our three children, Terrance, Chelsea, and Teyton, and our beautiful grandbaby, Sonni. Troy has always been strong, independent, and full of life, and it breaks our hearts to see him struggle with basic things like eating, breathing, and simply having the energy to stand. Troy spent years as a caregiver for both of his parents until they passed, always putting others before himself. Now he is the one who needs constant care, and I am unable to work because he requires 24-hour support. On top of his medical challenges, we are currently without stable housing, which makes managing his dialysis and health needs even more difficult and stressful. Troy loves the outdoors and dreams of traveling the country by my side, someday owning a motor home to live in and call home. He has so much more to offer the world and works hard to stay positive, even though this journey has been incredibly hard on him and our whole family. Right now, Troy needs dialysis several times a week, and we are trying to secure a safe place to live closer to his dialysis center so he does not have to endure long, exhausting trips just to receive the treatment that keeps him alive. Transportation has become a major challenge, and the costs of gas, appointments, and time away from any possible work are overwhelming. On top of that, we are struggling to keep up with medical expenses and the medications he needs while we wait and pray for a new kidney. We are asking for help with: Medical expenses related to Troy’s dialysis and kidney transplant preparation Transportation to and from his dialysis appointments Medications he needs to stay stable while waiting for a transplant A safe, affordable place to live near his dialysis clinic so he can reliably get the treatment he needsBasic living expenses, since Cheri cannot work while providing 24-hour care Any amount you are able to give will help ease this heavy burden and bring Troy closer to the quality of life he deserves. If you are not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others means more to us than you know. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading Troy’s story, for caring about our family, and for helping us fight for more time together.
