We are reaching out to you on behalf of our brother, Troy Aarhus.
Over the last few months, Troy has been dealing with serious health issues and he is now able to share his journey and ask for your help. Last year, Troy noticed a drop in his energy levels and severe pain in his back. Despite this, he continued staying active, determined to keep working and not let anyone down. Unfortunately, the pain persisted to a level that was unbearable. After a series of doctor’s visits and diagnostic studies, they discovered that he had prostate cancer. They also discovered the cancer had metastasized.
We don’t know why this happened. This is something unexpected and unexplainable. But we do know this — Troy is brave and he is going to fight this disease. He has tolerated treatment fairly well so far. Troy is now going through multiple cycles of chemotherapy, however, there has been no sign of shrinkage. Time is urgent, and we need your help.
Troy has been unable to work due to the pain, nausea and constant doctor and lab visits. Because he has been unable to work, Troy has had trouble finding the money to pay for necessary expenses such as: his medication, rent, food, etc. Family are helping as much as they can, but even they cannot come up with all the money needed to help Troy fight this.
We refuse to let this be the end of Troy’s journey and ask that you help us raise funds to support Troy’s fight. The road ahead isn’t easy, but we aren’t out of options. For those of you who know Troy, you know he would be the first one at your side to help. As his friends and family we are devastated, but this is Troy who brings so much more than friendship to our lives. As a community, we have an incredible opportunity to support our dear friend in his biggest time of need.
We ask that you help us in our push for $10,000. This is not nearly enough, but it is a start. If we reach more than $10,000, we will consider it a blessing and go from there.
Every penny raised will go directly to Troy to help him pay for the above items so that he may focus on the fight and not money issues.
