Help Troy Ashley Get Back In The Game

Donation protected
This is a call to all UCONN football alumni family and Husky Nation to lend a hand (no pun intended) and help Troy Ashley through a very difficult challenge he’s facing. Most of you who remember Troy recall the relentless passion he brought to the football field as one of best football players in UCONN football history, those who know him also know the friendship and fierce loyalty that Troy embodies.

Troy played every down as if it was the last, and refused to miss a play. I recall one game where he had his finger smashed between two opposing players helmets which resulted in severing about an inch of his middle finger off. Troy was pulled from the game and received urgent medical attention on what was left of his finger. The game went on, and after having his wound cleaned and bandaged, Troy missed two plays and returned to the game where he finished with about 12 tackles and two interceptions!

Troy is now self employed and works as a home improvement contractor, helping home owners fulfill their dream of upgrades and repairs to their homes. A few weeks ago, on June, 17th Troy was assisting a client with their home improvements and suffered a fall through a series of large glass windows. The fall was so extreme that Troy severed his right wrist and experienced severe lacerations including damage to his artery tendons and nerves. Troy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition losing a great deal of blood. After hours of emergency surgery and subsequent surgeries doctors were able to repair most of the damage and save his hand. Troy spent a few days in the hospital recovering from surgery, and during the current Covid19 pandemic, fortunately Troy was not infected by the virus.

Troy is down, but he is certainly not out! I am asking my UCONN football alumni and family as well as the Husky Nation to help Troy get back and finish the game. As I mentioned, Troy is self employed and does not carry the insurance necessary to cover the costs associated with this tragic accident. The costs of medical attention, surgeries, and rehabilitation to help him gain use of his hand again are adding up very quickly, and as a self-employed contractor with limited insurance currently unable to work, Troy is not able to meet the financial burden of this tragic injury.

I am asking that, if you can, please help our Husky Brother out with any financial donation you can so that we can help Troy get back in the game. Thank you and God Bless you for anything you can offer to help Troy. Go HUSKIES.!!!!!!!
