Hi friends,
My name is Jiqing, and I am a wildlife and pigeon rescuer based in Sydney. Over the past two days, I rescued two precious pigeons who are in urgent need of help and healing.
The first pigeon, whom I named Trooper, was found at Ashfield Civic Centre. Her foot was badly deformed from being tightly entangled in black string. I spent several hours carefully removing every piece of it by hand. Sadly, two of her toes were severely damaged.
Today, I took her to Campsie Vet Hospital, where the compassionate Dr. Nat advised that Trooper needed amputation surgery. Without it, she would suffer ongoing pain and risk a life-threatening infection.
Trooper bravely underwent anesthesia, amputation, and stitching today. The cost of her surgery was $499.92.
The second pigeon, whom I named Hope, was rescued late last night around midnight from Strathfield by a fellow rescuer. After days of relentless rain and cold, it was heartbreaking to see such a tiny, fragile life struggling to survive. Hope is very quiet, keeps her injured leg tucked under her body, and cannot walk — clearly in a lot of pain.
Today, I also brought Hope to Dr. Nat. After an initial examination, it appears that Hope has a broken leg. We have scheduled an X-ray and surgery for this Friday or Saturday. In the meantime, we made a temporary splint to support her.
Hope is also missing some important flight feathers, which adds to her vulnerability.
Based on previous cases, the cost of her surgery is estimated to be between $500–$600.
Both of these brave little souls have already endured unimaginable suffering, yet they are fighting to live — and I am committed to fighting for them.
Trooper embodies resilience.
Hope reminds me that even when broken, there is still light and courage inside.
I truly wish to continue rescuing and caring for pigeons and wildlife, but I can't do it alone.
Your support will not only help Trooper and Hope heal, but it will also give them the second chance they deserve — and give me the strength to keep saving more lives.
I have attached the invoices below and will keep you updated every step of the way.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Trooper and Hope toward a brighter, pain-free future.
Your kindness means everything to them — and to me.

With deep gratitude,
Jiqing
