Help Troop 76-Fairfield, PA go to Maine
Due to the Covid pandemic Boy Scout troop 76 of Fairfield PA, lost all of their fund raising events for the year 2020. In the past the boys and girls have raised money by hosting several car washes and bake sales. The Scouts also staff a food booth at a two day event in the town of Fairfield called Pippenfest. Last year the Pippenfest was canceled due to the pandemic resulting in the troop losing their largest fundraiser. The scouts have been providing food and drinks at the Pippenfest and also clean up all of the trash from the event every year since the mid 1980’s. This event as well as a donation from the Lions Club has helped to pay for the Scount’s annual chartering dues and allowed the troop to participate in various educational events. This year the troop has planned a trip to Eastport Maine in August. While in Maine the troop will have the opportunity to work on several merit badges: Fishing, Canoeing, Indian Lore, Camping, Hiking, Bird Study, Exploration, Mammal Study and Nature. The scouts will be visiting Native American Reservation, Quoddy Point and Lighthouse, Seal and Puffin Islands, Shackford Head State Park, McCurdy Smokehouse Museum, Lost Fisherman’s Memorial and whale watching on Passamaquoddy bay.
Please consider donating to Troop 76 to help the children attend their activities this year. All funds will be used for transportation, tolls, outdoor gear and food for the Scouts.
