Tristina, a 27-year-old woman from Jamaica, NEEDS OUR HELP, so her partner and children are not evicted from their home This is a very urgent need of $3,775 to cover these next two months to keep a family from going through more hardship and heartache. Even $1 can help their needs.

We had 6 kind souls donate a total of $500 to Solace in the past 2 weeks.
Unfortunately, the family did not meet April's rent and on the 10th, the landlord likely started the eviction process once more as they said they would.

They are still in need of $1425 to cover April's rent.

Tristina's partner had come up with some funds but unfortunately, he reports that he had to use it to purchase groceries, diapers, and medicine for one of the children. He has recently shared how dire he feels his situation is, leading him to cry at times when he looks at his kids and realizes his partner can't be there with them and he's now the sole caretaker. It's a responsibility that has taken a huge toll on his mental, emotional and physical health.

At this point, he's waiting to get served with a notice once more by the police. We calculate this will happen in the next 2 weeks or so if we go by the time it took to get served the last time. From there he'll have an additional 10 days to pay the full amount or request a hearing. He's trying to avoid going to a hearing since this would cause extra hardship for childcare and coordination with his part-time job.

If you're able/capable of donating any amount to help t

She has been detained for close to a year. Moved from South Carolina all the way to California City via various transfers to Georgia, Texas, Florida and ultimately California where she is thousands of miles away from her 3 small children ages 3, 5 & 7.

Tristina's partner is a single parent now. The stress of not having Tristina with him and raising 3 young children on his own in South Carolina, one of which has a disability, has created health issues for him. Tristina shared that he had a stroke some months ago and was not able to work for several months, leaving them struggling financially among other ways.

Due to this health condition and the inability to work, the partner has not been able to pay the rent for the apartment where he and their 3 children reside awaiting Tristina's return for several months. They received a notice to vacate through the courts last month and they were able to come up with the funds to cover up to the end of February 2026.

Tristina's partner, Maurice, shared a photo of the order he received and can be confirmed through the court's website as well.

He had 10 days to come up with a large amount of funds. And could not come up with the last $1925 but a SOLACE member stepped in to lend those funds so the eviction could be stopped, however, part of those funds will need to be repaid when possible. And there's still this month's rent that was due on April 1st, 2026, that needs to be covered, or the landlord will start the eviction process again on April 10th (this upcoming Friday).

He has started to work part-time at the same time he's taking care of 3 young children and recovering from his stroke. He's trying to get back on his feet, but his situation won't allow him to do so quickly enough to catch up on his own. If you know of any organizations that can assist him in any form in the upcoming months in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area, it would be greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile, Tristina is extremely stressed about the housing instability her family is going through at the same time as being heartbroken for not being able to be with her babies or at least close enough for them to visit. This is too much for a person to endure. Her family has been torn apart for a year now.

She is hopeful she'll be released from ICE custody soon, especially because it was a traffic stop which did not lead to any charges or fines that resulted in her current immigration battle. She's also in constant need of telephone funds to call her family and check up on them and that's also been another financial hardship since her partner cannot support her financial needs while in detention as well. Our hope is that we raise enough funds to have extra to help the family with some diapers (size 4t-5t) and her commissary/telephone funds which so far have been coming from our own pockets so she can at least be in constant communication with her babies. If you would like to donate these directly to the family or to her GettingOut Account, I can help coordinate that as well.

Tristina has endured dehumanizing treatment at the California City Detention Center often being fed moldy, old food. She has also been a key figure for other women detained there to get connected to my organization and others in our DND coalition. She deserves a little bit of peace in regard to the housing/financial situation of her kids and partner at a minimum.
