This fundraiser was created on behalf of Tristan and Marie Luhrs, and their three boys.
On March 10, 2021, Tristan suffered from a medical emergency that resulted in a severely perforated esophagus. With the help of his wife Marie, he was rushed to emergency. That decision to seek help immediately is what saved Tristan’s life.
Emergency surgery was performed to put a stent in his esophagus. They have found fluid in his lungs and chest. He has been in the Intensive Care Unit on a ventilator since Wednesday, as he cannot breathe on his own. The doctors and nurses continue to monitor him and do everything they can to get him on the road to recovery, but this will be a long process.
Vicki (Tristan’s mother) and I (Marie’s sister) have decided to create this GoFundMe account to ease the financial burden for the Luhrs Family. Due to the effects of COVID, Tristan lost his jobs last year as a restaurant employee and a gigging musician. He hit the ground running, received his insurance licenses, and started an insurance agency but it is in the early stages of the business. The company that Marie works for was greatly affected as well and her income has dropped significantly. They have twin 10-year old sons and a 7-year old son and the weight is on Marie’s shoulders as Tristan recovers in the hospital. This time is especially difficult because tomorrow they were going to do something special to celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary.
Vicki and I know that Marie and Tristan would not ask for help on their own, but we know that they need it. We understand that it has been a rough year for a lot of people, so anything is appreciated. Any donations received will go towards the Luhrs family to assist with the significant medical and other financial expenses that will be incurred to help Tristan recover. While he remains in critical condition, we are optimistic that Tristan's strong and fighting nature, along with the support from all who love him, will carry him through this extremely difficult time.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share this link. With a long road to recovery, your support, love, and prayers would be much appreciated.
