Help Tristan Levin Compete at Nationals

We at Tottenville wrestling club (a non profit organization ) are asking for donations to help support one of our wrestlers Tristan Levin to go to Fargo and compete in the nationals. Hello Everyone- Allow me to share with you a bit about my wrestling journey and reason why I am asking for your help.

My name is Tristan Levin . I am a sophomore at Tottenville High School in Staten Island and a Captain of the Pirates Wrestling Team. I am a 2x City Champion and have been named Wrestler of the Year in Staten the last 2 years. I am also an Honors student and my average at the moment is a 94. (Working on that)

So, my wrestling journey began in the 4th grade. After starting in Mixed Martial at the age of 3, I was introduced to wrestling at the Farrell Lions Wrestling Club.. It was not long before I fell in love with the sport I am extremely passionate about.. Wrestling in my opinion is the most difficult but also the most rewarding sport there is.. It has taught me hard work, dedication, discipline, given me confidence. it has also taught me how to win with humbleness and lose with dignity and respect.. I’ve made so many great friends and have had the opportunity to travel and compete at some really cool events and venues.. Over the years I have spent endless amounts of hours practicing and improving in pursuit of my long term goals in wrestling and my education. Hopefully working really hard and excelling in both will earn me the opportunity in 2 years from now to further my wrestling Journey and education at really great College.

Earlier this month I competed at the NY State Freestyle & Greco Championships in Binghamton, NY and a week later at Northeast Regionals in Atlantic City.. These are qualifying tournaments for the 2024 US Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals in Fargo, ND taking place the week of July 12. For those of you that don’t know, this is the biggest National Tournament in the Country. All the top High School wrestlers in the country dream of the opportunity to compete and become a Fargo All-American.. What also makes this tournament so important is the fact that pretty much every College wrestling program will have coaches & scouts there watching and I will have the chance to meet and speak with them. This will provide the best possible opportunity to begin my recruitment process.

Last year unfortunately I got sick a few days before the NY State qualifier and couldn’t attend.. Then I fell short in the Regional qualifier and did not earn a spot with the opportunity to go.. The great news is that this year I qualified for both Freestyle & Greco at the NY State Championship and then again in Greco at Northeast Regionals earning my spot on the NY National Team with the opportunity to represent NY (especially Staten Island) in Fargo this July!!!

Here’s the part where I need to ask for your help and support.. Aside from the challenges of physically qualifying for Fargo, all the costs for the qualifiers and now the main event including things like registration, housing, team gear and travel (airfare) are also really challenging and very expensive.
