Help Tristan James Fight a Serious Abdominal Illness
Hi, my name is Melannie Woolley, and I’m humbly asking for your help on behalf of my 21-year-old nephew, Tristan James Lata, who just turned 21 while confined in the ICU of City of Imus Doctors Hospital on July 21, 2025.
Tristan has been severely ill for over a week now. He’s been in and out of three different hospitals—treated, discharged, but his condition only worsened. He had been throwing up for few days. He is now critically admitted in a private hospital ICU, where doctors are still working hard to find the exact cause of his persistent vomiting, inability to eat or poop, and extreme weakness.
Latest Hospital Findings:
A recent abdominal ultrasound revealed:
Fluid-distended stomach and small bowels – suggesting a possible bowel obstruction or ileus, which is a serious condition affecting digestion and bowel movement.
Ascites – there's amounts of fluid in the abdominal cavity.
Other organs (liver, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, etc.) appear normal, but his symptoms remain unexplained and are worsening.
His Current Situation:
Tristan is the youngest among his siblings, and sadly, they’ve had to grow up too soon. Their mother (my sister) passed away in 2017, and they’ve been supporting each other ever since. Tristan is currently in college, trying to build a better future despite life’s hardships. His father is no longer in the picture.
In just 2 days of ICU care, the family has already been billed a significant amount, with more tests and treatments needed urgently. We have helped financially as much as we can, but the costs are now overwhelming.
