I grew up in Hawley near the Ford Family Farm and, as many who grew up in Hawley back in the day, had Mrs. Ford as our kindergarten teacher. When I became a teacher at Glyndon-Felton Elementary, I was blessed to teach with Mrs. Ford's daughter, Lori Mjones, and her granddaughter, Trisha Rux. Many of you have supported Trisha and her family over the last two years as she has been battling cancer.

Her cancer journey began in April 2024, and she had surgery to remove a brain tumor in May 2024. It was found that the type of cancer she had is Glioblastoma. This is a fast-moving and aggressive type of cancer. Trisha went through chemo and radiation, forcing her to resign after more than 20 years of teaching. Trisha had 10 months of clear MRIs and was just getting ready to ring the bell in March when another tumor was found.

Trisha is thankful to have watched her twin girls each graduate from college and recently watched her son's confirmation. She hopes to be able to see him graduate from high school. Trisha has the opportunity to try a new trial treatment which is unfortunately not covered by insurance and will consist of 10 radiation treatments at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, which will add to the expenses due to travel and lodging.

I am asking those warriors who have been supporting and following Trisha's journey to help her with this new phase of her battle and prayers that this trial treatment can be the miracle she needs to beat this!
