Dear friends,
Trisha has lost everything she owns in the Lismore floods, her house has been condemned and she only has the clothes on her back. She's my best friend, the mother of my twin godsons, Jasper & Reg, she's been my best mate for 30 years and she needs help to rebuild her life.
As most of you know the Northern Rivers of New South Wales has experienced the worst flooding in history. This is my hometown and all of the people I love are hurting. Most people have lost everything they own. 15,000 houses have been condemned. Thousands are homeless. They had no insurance. They have nothing left.
The water rose so high and so quickly that no one knew what was coming. People said a step every 10 minutes. People were climbing onto their roofs at 4AM. The flood waters rose 47 feet. This was the once-in-500-year-flood.
Trish is such a wonderful person that as the flood waters were rising she stayed with her disabled client, covering other co-workers shifts, with no thought to saving her own belongings. She then organized for a neighbor to rescue her housemate who was also physically disabled. She’s spent the whole time since the floods looking after her friend in a wheelchair, their 80 year old mother and her housemate.
We’ve traveled from Darwin to Tasmania and all the places in between. She’s the coolest person I know and the only person you need in your corner. She’s given so much, I’m hoping the world can give a little back to her. All money will go to Trish finding somewhere to live and her basic necessities.
There’s so many people in need at the moment, but if you’re in a position to, please help…
This was Trisha’s sweet little house.
