It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Elias Avila. Elias was on a camping trip in Show Low with his wife, Trisha, when he suffered a heart attack.

Elias was a devoted father, grandfather, and loving husband. He was an accomplished engineer who had achieved many of his academic goals. He was a U of A Alumni and graduated with honors. He was known for his gentle spirit, helpful nature, and infectious laugh. A man of intelligence, and true integrity. Everyone who knew Eli knew his passion for Star Wars. He proudly wore his Storm Trooper costume he made in his garage this past Halloween. He was also passionate about riding his motorcycle, inventing and creating prototypes in his garage, camping, and most of all, spending time with family.
