Exuberant, vivacious, and stubborn, these are some of the qualities that reflect my friend Trish. She is always upbeat, positive, and doesn’t get discouraged by what comes her way. However, she is reluctant to ask anyone for help. About a month ago, Trish’s transmission went out on her Nissan. She took it to her mechanic and was told it would cost a lot to fix it. Her car isn’t worth that much because it was a salvaged car when she bought it. So, she decided to save up for another car.
The problem is she started having a toothache, so she went to the dentist and discovered that she required extensive dental work. Now there is no way she can buy a car. Trish is going to be 74 this year. She lives alone and has no one to help her get around. She lives on social security and has no other income. She had open heart surgery, is diabetic and is hard of hearing.
Right now, she is walking about a mile over a bridge to go to the grocery store and has a difficult time carrying the bags back. She gets up at 4 am on Sunday to ride the bus from San Bernardino to Riverside to go to church. She was in our bible study in Riverside on Tuesday evenings, and now she is unable to attend anymore because she doesn’t have a car. It really helps her loneliness to be able to come and socialize with us.
I am her friend and I’m just trying to do what I can to help her become mobile again. Would you please consider donating whatever amount to help Trish? Any amount will be appreciated and all of it will go to help her. Thank you for reading this and for your generosity in helping someone who just needs a little help. May God bless you for your kindness.
