Help Trish and JM Recover

You probably know John Matthew (JM) Defoggi as a beloved lanky ball of enthusiasm and creative energy behind Iconic Productions, Strange Owl Games, and Osprey's Jackals tabletop role-playing game line. Over the years he and his wife Trish have contributed to, edited, and created dozens of TTRPGs, streaming and podcasts. You can find also find them as enthusiastic members of the 13th Age, Savage Worlds, and Glorantha communities. Together they have poured years of their lives into their community, turning fans into friends from around the globe.
A couple of days ago JM posted this message for his fans on the Iconic Discord:
Long story short, on the 18th of June, I began to feel ill, and ended up with bacterial meningitis which landed me in the hospital. I spent a total of 9 days in the hospital before being released. It was touch-and-go for the first 24 hours, and I face a long road to recovery. I am home now, but continue an intravenous antibiotics regimen, which I am infusing as a full-time job (around 8 hours a day).
Needless to say, I am going to be out of commission for a while. I have been told it will be 3-6 months of rest & recovery before my brain, nerves, and neurochemistry get back to normal. I’ve also been told I need to cut back on everything right now to give my brain a chance to heal without complications.
What JM didn't mention was that this was only the very top of the layercake which has been "A Very Rough Year for the Defoggis". Their 11-year-old son Zane got a trip in an ambulance a few days before the end of the school year after an accident on the playground caused two wedge fractures to his L1 and L4 vertebrae. A month before that, Trish had her own emergency surgery and overnight hospital stay. JM, by nature of the neurological healing required, has to put the pause button on numerous paying contracts. After the year they've had, they could really use the support of their community.
As his friends (and neighbors) we are coming together to create this GoFundMe to help Trish and JM get back on their feet and back to making the world a more enjoyable, beautiful, and story-filled place for everyone they meet. Four thousand dollars is enough for a single lean month without work. Anything contributed will go directly to help the Defoggis get through the summer and back on their feet. Anything beyond that would be amazing and help them pay for the out-of-pocket medical expenses that have started to pile up.
