Help Give Tripp a Leg Up
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ed Feil and I'm a friend of Tripp's. Thank you for considering a donation for Tripp Sommer’s prosthesis and related expenses.
Tripp was in a horrible accident in November 2021 and was hospitalized for 3 months. Since then, due to a raging infection, his right leg had to be amputated above the knee. His current prosthetic leg is agonizing. He must use a walker or wheelchair at all times. Sometimes his “knee” buckles and only the walker can prevent a fall. This will not happen with a new, microprocessor knee. Currently, Tripp can only climb stairs with much assistance. Daily life is difficult.
Our goal is to see Tripp walk unassisted (walking without the aid of a walker) and climb stairs without pain or fear of falling.
While a basic prosthetic leg costs about $30,000 and is partially covered by insurance, a more advanced prosthetic leg, controlled by a microprocessor, costs around $75,000 and there is limited insurance coverage. With an advanced computerized prosthetic leg, Tripp will be able to walk, travel, climb stairs and meet his #1 goal to ride his bike again!!!
His family and friends are trying to raise money for a working limb to give Tripp back his mobility and independence.
Donations are considered gifts and are not tax deductible. Gifts up to $17,000 are allowed (if you are felling saucy), but every contribution helps. Please donate what you are able.
