My name is Trinity Slaughter, and I am a freshman accounting major at Howard University from Louisville, Kentucky. Since high school, I have been on my own, taking care of myself without the support of a parent or guardian. I left home due to domestic violence, and since then, I have worked hard to pay for all my expenses and build a better future for myself.

Being an independent student has been challenging, but I am determined to not only succeed academically but also to grow as a person. I want to be a role model for others, showing both the fortunate and less fortunate that your background does not define your future. With hope and joy, I believe anyone can achieve their dreams. My goal is to stay at Howard University, heal from past trauma, and become more than what my community expects. I want to break cycles, promote financial literacy, and protect the rights of all people, regardless of their background, gender, or orientation. We all matter, and I want to be a voice for change.

I am reaching out for help because I owe a significant amount to my school and am at risk of not being able to continue my education.
