Hello!
My name is Trinity and i’ve loved animals my entire life. Im 20 years old and I financially support myself and all my animals. I picked up a job at Petsmart and unfortunately, people have a habit of abandoning their animals outside our doors. I have taken it upon myself to be a home these forgotten animals can go to. This brings me to my most challenging rescue a year ago.

Around a year ago, out of all the abandonments we’ve had, we had two chinchillas dropped off in the snow on a busy day. I was dealing with customers, my manager dismissed the woman who found them and told her to leave them at the vet, and I just couldn't do that as the vet near us wasn't even an exotic vet. I made a commitment to being their mom since.

We have come a long way, but recently Boba has started to sneeze. A couple months ago, I took her to an exotic vet, put her on antibiotics, and the sneezing seemed to clear up. Now it has come back, and upon a physical examination, the vet felt a small soft lump on her jaw. The vet shared her thoughts and is 90% sure it is dental issues and quoted me around 3,500 dollars in total for scans and treatment. We have no confirmation on the actual issue yet, just hypothesis.

I cannot afford this. Nor am I asking anyone to afford such an exorbitant price either. Ive since called around to other vets, and it seems the best, least pricey option is to pay for an X-ray and tooth filing if that is what the Xray shows she needs. Ive been quoted upwards of 600-700 for this. I live in NY/Long Island area so our prices are usually a bit ridiculous.

I would give anything to have all the money in the world to make sure my girl is okay. Ive invested all my time into them, my love, my energy, they are my furry daughters at this point. If it comes down to it, I may need to rehome them if she requires constant treatment which breaks my heart. Its simply not feasible for me, as I am also taking care of other animals in my home, and I am only one person with one job that has little pay and little hours. I will provide updates in the case I rehome. I hate to ask for any sort of money, and I don’t expect a lot, but if you are feeling particularly generous and want to donate to my funds, every dollar counts and helps. Seriously. Even quarters.

My girls are my life. They showed me I have the power to save someone and provide love at a time where I thought I wasn’t even capable of giving that to myself. Ive exceeded all my expectations. I want to do right by them and right by me, and that is what I will do. I will continue to fight for any option I can if it means I can keep my girls.

Thank you for your time, and if you have read this, please share with me your thoughts or advice. Even just a simple encouragement can go a long way. I have rescued in my time of working at pet stores animals like Crested Geckos, Alligator Snapping Turtles, Cornsnakes etc.,

But none ever as challenging as my chinnys. And it’s a challenge I'm blessed to have, although it has come with heartbreak.

Thank you all again. Please keep my girls in your thoughts and prayers. All of your energy counts.
