Our Story
Trinity, our beloved 6-year-old Kelpie, is more than just a pet; she’s a part of our family. Trinity has been my faithful training buddy through a marathon and my recently completed Ironman. Her boundless energy and enthusiasm bring joy to everyone who meets her.
The Accident
On the 17th of June, our world was turned upside down when Trinity was hit by an Australia Post van. The accident left her severely injured, and she’s been in the ICU at Murdoch Animal Hospital for the past two days. Trinity's injuries are extensive and heartbreaking:
- Her back right leg will need to be amputated.
- She has fractures in her other three legs.
- Her skin has pulled away from her ribcage.
- She five extensive wounds on her body.
The Road to Recovery
Trinity’s resilience is inspiring. Despite her injuries, she’s determined to run again using her remaining three legs. The road to recovery will be long and challenging, but with the right care and support, we believe she can make it.
How You Can Help
The total cost of Trinity's surgeries and hospitalisation is estimated to be up to $20,000. We’re reaching out to you, our friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, to help us cover these expenses. Your donation will go directly towards:
- Trinity’s surgeries and medical treatments
- Her extended stay in the hospital
- Rehabilitation and physical therapy to help her adapt and learn to run again
Giving Back
Any funds we receive that aren’t used for Trinity’s surgery and recovery will be donated to Murdoch University’s ‘Caring for Pets’ program. This wonderful initiative supports research aimed at improving the lives and health of pets, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
