Help Trina recover from a stroke

Hi, I am Carissa, Trina's eldest daughter.

Yesterday September 4th we found out my mom Trina suffered a stroke. She's only 48 and lives a healthy lifestyle so this comes as quite a shock.

Currently she is being monitored and awaiting further testing but so far she is having trouble seeing, is in extreme pain and feels very sick and tired and cannot get out of bed.

Her initial CT scan revealed that she has a connective tissue disorder that makes her blood vessels and arteries week and malformed which is why she experienced the stroke at such as young and healthy age. We will hopefully know more once we can get the results of her MRI.

Trina has always been a fiercely independent and strong person and is so quick to help others. But now I think it's time she could use some serious support. She currently lives alone without the help of a partner to support her through these tough times. She works full time and is running another business in her spare time, while also taking care of her small mountain home in a remote area outside of Kelowna which is very labour-intensive (chopping wood, snow blowing, and keeping the fire warm). And now she won't be able to do any of these things.

It's still not certain how much function she will recover or how long recovery will take but generally, they say that the first 3-4 months are the most critical period when function might be restored through therapy.

I am asking your support to help her as she will have no income for the foreseeable future and will have additional medical expenses and therapy to help her hopefully regain her vision, reduce or eliminate pain, fatigue and severe nausea.
