Let’s raise the money needed to enable Trina to participate in a life-saving Cancer Trial in Houston, Texas and pray it will give her the golden years she deserves. $5 or $500, anything will help with the medical cost, travel expenses, lodging, etc.
Trina's Breast Cancer Journey...
Round 1: Trina Cooper, an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in March 2015 with triple-negative breast cancer in her left breast. Doctors performed a lumpectomy, and Trina began treating with a renowned doctor in the Hoxey Clinic, who prescribed a strict regimen that she followed faithfully for 4 1/2 years while in remission.
Round 2: Trina’s biggest fear came true when she discovered a lump under her left arm and in her breast. The cancer was back. Trina endured another surgery to remove the cancer, only to have it come back within 6 months. This time it had metastasized (spread) to Trina's lungs and liver. Trina's only option was to undergo Chemo Treatments to fight what had now spread to the lymph nodes as well other parts of her body. Trina underwent chemo and immune therapy for one year. Because the cancer appeared to be stable, and doctors weren't sure if the scans showed scar tissue or cancer, they decided to pause the chemo treatments.
Round 3: About 4 months later, Trina’s scan showed swollen lymph nodes in the middle of her chest and a biopsy revealed she was again positive for breast cancer. Trina suffered through another kind of chemo and immune therapy for 2 months. Unfortunately, the scans showed that the lymph nodes are growing and there are 2 new spots on her lungs. With the news that the chemo was no longer working, doctors dismissed her from treatment. With over $200,000 in medical bills, she needs our help.
Round 4: We NEED YOUR HELP... the doctors strongly recommend a Cancer Trial that may help. Trina's first appointments are fast approaching and we are so thankful Trina has been accepted into the program and next steps are to determine if she is a candidate for this trial. She will travel to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Treatment Center in Houston, TX. MD Anderson is a nationally recognized research hospital known for exploring unconventional treatment methods. Thankfully at MD Anderson, if the trial doesn’t work, they may design a treatment specific to her needs. As we all know, Trina is fearless and will go to the ends of the earth to kick cancer’s ass.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read Trina’s Story and support her recovery.
