Hi, My name is Kara Brandt. I am fundraising for my dear friend Tricia Partida.
Tricia is a beautiful mother and grandmother to two grandbabies. She has spent so much of her life quietly serving many people. She has a passion for holistic medicine and has a wealth of knowledge. Tricia is hilarious as well as thoughtful. She loves to dance and is fantastic at it! She has so much more life to live!
Unfortunately, a few years ago, Tricia's health declined drastically due to falling and hitting her head and contracting Lyme disease. There are a few other factors that doctors are still trying to determine. Within months she went from being a healthy young beautiful woman to being confined to a recliner, unable to feed, dress, or go to the bathroom herself.
Tricia is on Medicaid and should be getting excellent coverage and care. Unfortunately, that is not the case. For the past year, she has been to 5 different full-time care facilities in hopes of getting the care she needs. Instead, she has found herself in less than ideal circumstances over and over again. She has had to wait for at least an hour for nurses to come to help her to the bathroom, and the food she has been fed is not for human consumption, let alone to support her healing journey. In each facility, she has had to wait several weeks for the in-house doctor to approve the supplements she takes. She has requested a whole food diet rich in protein, fruits, and vegetables, gluten-free, and instead is getting high sugar and starches, and yes.... pasta and bread at every meal! These requests were also ordered by two outside doctors and were ignored. I have made efforts to advocate for her, including filing a report.
Tricia's body has seized up so drastically that she cannot feed, dress, or get herself to the bathroom. She is only 48 years old! This is too young to be incapacitated!
Tricia might have a chance of reversing her condition if she can get the right treatment. There is a facility in Colorado I want to help her get to that treats Lyme disease as well as does whole body detoxing and auto-immune therapies.
There are also a few doctors in the valley that seem to understand what Tricia is dealing with. However, they cannot accept insurance. Tricia is on a very limited income relying mostly on Medicaid.
She also needs some extensive and regular physical therapy.
I can't bear the thought of Tricia sitting much longer in a care facility that is accusing her of being "high maintenance"!
Imagine having full health and, within a matter of months, be confined to a recliner, unable to feed yourself or go to the bathroom alone! Her situation is heartbreaking.
Please donate to help Tricia heal so she can walk and dance again! So she can play with her sweet little grandbabies!
Also, If you know Tricia, please share this with as many people as you can! Thank you so much!
