My name is Tricia, and since February 2023, I have been fighting an extremely rare form of cancer called Mxyofibrosarcoma. This diagnosis has turned my world upside down. With less than 1% of people facing this type of cancer, most of my treatments have been experimental, and I am constantly in pain as new complications arise. My oncologist has told me there may only be one or two treatments left to try, but sadly, my insurance does not cover these options. The cost of my medications and treatments is overwhelming, and I am truly drowning in medical and cancer debt, doing everything I can just to survive and keep going.
On top of my health battle, I recently lost my career of over 39 years in the Aviation & Travel Technology field, including the last 14 years at a well-known company here in Hawaii. Losing my job meant losing the insurance that was covering most of my medical needs, forcing me to switch to a much more expensive plan that covers very little and adds more hurdles to getting care. The financial strain has only grown as bills for my mortgage, utilities, gas for countless doctor appointments, and even groceries continue to pile up.
The funds raised here will go directly toward my mounting medical bills, a new targeted chemo treatment, and hiring a part-time caregiver. As my condition progresses, it has become increasingly difficult to manage daily needs like bathing and toiletries, and I now require daily wound care due to complications from groin tumors. Your support will help me access the treatments and care I desperately need to continue fighting this battle, as well as help cover basic living expenses during this difficult time.
