On December 20th, my amazing dog Tricia had a severe seizure while we were at the park. She had never had one before, and it was terrifying to see her in distress. After several emergency room visits and diagnostic tests, including a CT scan, we discovered a mass in her pancreas. She was diagnosed with insulinoma, a rare and serious condition. Prednisone helped stabilize her, but she didn’t have enough energy for a walk and clearly didn’t feel well.
The mass was in the one area of the pancreas that was operable, so despite the significant expense, I opted to go ahead with the surgery. The procedure itself went okay, but unfortunately, Tricia’s recovery has not gone as hoped. She is still hospitalized and has developed severe pancreatitis, which is causing other serious complications. The bill is now overwhelming and expected to keep growing. While there is no guarantee she will recover, I have to try. She is just the best girl, with the sweetest temperament, and has been my partner as a dog trainer as well as my best friend and my heart.
I was scrambling to cover the original costs and now, with the cost more than doubling from the high end of the original estimate, I don’t know how I will manage. Any help is so very appreciated. Tricia means the world to me, and your support would make a huge difference in her fight to recover.
