Help Trevor Recover After Emergency Brain Surgery (AVM)
Donation protected
Our dear friend, Trevor Kimani, is facing one of the toughest battles of his life, and he really needs help. While having a late-night snack and laughing with his best friend, Trevor’s world suddenly changed. As he was about to head to bed, he began to seize uncontrollably and we had to call 911. What followed were three severe seizures and a stroke, leading to the discovery that Trevor has an arteriovenous malformation (AVM)—a rare and dangerous condition where a tangle of abnormal blood vessels disrupts the normal blood flow in his brain.
A Life-Saving Surgery
To save his life, Trevor had to undergo an emergency craniotomy—a major brain surgery where doctors had to remove part of his skull to access and repair the damaged blood vessels. This procedure is incredibly invasive and carries significant risks, but it was necessary to prevent further damage. While the surgery was successful, Trevor now faces an uphill battle as he begins a long, challenging road to recovery.
The Challenges Ahead
Trevor’s recovery will be anything but easy. The doctors have estimated that it could take anywhere from 2 to 8 months, and possibly even longer, for him to heal. During this time, Trevor won’t be able to return home to Los Angeles. He’ll need extensive rehabilitation, including physical therapy, cognitive therapy, and constant medical supervision to monitor his progress and prevent complications.
Why Trevor Needs Our Help
Trevor is an incredibly resilient and passionate individual who has always been there for others. As a professional creative operations manager, he’s dedicated his life to videography and drone flying, and he dreams of one day obtaining his pilot’s license. He’s also the loving older brother to three younger siblings and the son of a full-time nurse who is now doing everything she can to support him during this difficult time. Despite the challenges he’s facing, Trevor has always been someone who gives back—whether it’s through his work at his local church or working at a creative agency called Modernlalaland by helping recent graduates gain experience in their chosen creative fields.
How Your Donations Will Make a Difference
Trevor’s medical journey is going to be long and costly, and his inability to work means that financial stress will add to his already immense burden. Here’s how your donations will directly impact Trevor’s recovery:
• Medical Expenses: Covering the costs of the emergency brain surgery, follow-up procedures, rehabilitation, and ongoing treatments.
• Living Costs: Supporting Trevor’s day-to-day needs while he recovers away from home, including accommodation, meals, and other essentials.
• Therapy and Care: Ensuring Trevor has access to the best possible physical and cognitive therapies that will be crucial for his recovery.
Let’s Come Together for Trevor
Trevor has always been a beacon of support and kindness to those around him, and now it’s our turn to support him. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a profound difference in helping Trevor focus on what matters most—his recovery. Please join us in rallying around Trevor during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity, prayers, and support. Together, we can help Trevor get back on his feet and back to the life he loves.
