My name is Trevanni and I have recently been accepted into the Summer Performing Arts With Juilliard!
I have been dedicated, driven, and loyal to the artistry and structure of dance since a very
young age. Four years old to be exact. | first enrolled into a ballet based company. Over the
course of fourteen years, I've trained at various studios and/or companies. Through the
duration of that time I have performed in countless showcases... regional, national, and even
international competitions and conventions. And now, my hard work and devotion is starting
to pay off.
Despite my family and friends always advising me that I can accomplish anything I put my
mind to, I've always thought of Juilliard as something that I wouldn't be able to make happen,
especially through the last couple years. During January of this year, I fell into a depression
and had little to no drive to work towards what I am passionate about, which is a career in the
performing arts.
When I learned of Juilliard School partnering with the education company Nord Anglia to host
a performing arts summer intensive at the Windermere Preparatory School in Orlando Florida,
I immediately thought to myself this would be the best thing to reinforce my drive to be a
professional dancer. Before I went through the audition process, I was only planning on
auditioning and not attending the intensive even if I was accepted, because I knew how
expensive it would be to go. A couple weeks after I submitted my audition and interview
videos, I received the exciting news. I was accepted! My family and I had a few long
conversations and decided this is an opportunity that I absolutely shouldn't pass up even
though it will create financial hardship.
In total, the intensive is four weeks long. July 9th - July 22nd It focuses on drama, piano,
voice, musical theatre, and of course, dance. I am only attending the dance session because
it is the art that I hold the most passion and love for. The dance session is two weeks long.
The session includes world class training in every style of dance imaginable, as well as
various seminars such as Injury Prevention and Nutrition and Mental Wellness to name just a
couple.
Juilliard is the 'worldwide leader' in performing arts education. With an acceptance rate of
only seven percent, Juilliard is a highly competitive school which makes it extremely difficult to
attend. My acceptance into the summer intensive will open up the opportunity for me to
someday attend the school for my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
