Help Treva Humphery Heal After Tragic Accident

My name is Mya Norwood and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my sister Treva Humphery. All donations will go directly to her, and then distributed between bills and upcoming Dr. visits and physical therapy.

She made a mistake and trusted someone who said they were sober, and now is the only one paying the consequences. On Dec 7th, 2024, around 2 a.m., the person she trusted, her husband, and herself were in a horrific car accident, losing control at 86 mph, flipping multiple times, and ending up on a telephone pole. The untrustworthy person and her husband were able to get out of the vehicle in an attempt to abandon the scene of the accident, only to realize Treva was trapped in the back seat and unable to move herself. The driver fled on foot, and her husband helped her out of the vehicle. She was rushed to UT Medical Center by ambulance and placed in the ICU for 5 days. While there, she underwent an extensive and scary surgery to repair her femur bone, which was in three pieces, and her pelvis, which was in four. Finally, she got her own room and was there for 8 days before being sent home on Dec. 20th. To her surprise, her husband has left her, but by the grace of God, her father-in-law stayed to help care for her. She’s wheelchair-bound with the ability to stand but not for long. She’s been out of work for over a month and will be out for at least another 6 months. With little to no income coming in, I ask you to donate what you can and please pray if you can’t! She has a long, hard road of recovery ahead, and she’s not alone but certainly feels abandoned. She needs financial help to continue to buy the home supplies she needs along with future Dr. visits and therapy. She did not, and now cannot, get approved for insurance. The driver that wrecked with her in the car did not have car insurance and isn’t being held accountable legally or financially at all. Financially, she has nothing, and our family is running extremely low now too. Please find it in your heart to help any way you can.

She is blessed with some wonderful people in her life who are helping her with day to day activities such as using the bathroom, taking a shower, brushing her hair but she’s need active medical care to recover correctly and quickly.
