On July 23, 2019, our dear friend, Tressana Alouane, received shocking news from her doctors that changed her life in every way. In a pre-op appointment for a much-needed orthopedic surgery, the doctors discovered a mass in a chest x-ray. In an unexpected turn of events, Tressana was instructed to immediately go into Cedars-Sinai the following day for a PET scan. After a multitude of blood tests, scans, and exams, we learned that Tressana DID have lung cancer.

She underwent major surgery to remove a golf ball size tumor, part of her lower left lung, and numerous lymph nodes. The results of the surgery showed that the cancer had unfortunately metastasized. She was diagnosed with Stage 2B lung cancer. Her journey continues post-surgery, with intensive chemotherapy. Her team of doctors have also found a suspicious cyst on her ovaries, which they say needs to be removed mid-March, just a few weeks after her final chemo treatment. And once recovered from that surgery, she will need to complete the orthopedic surgery that was halted back in July 2019.

Tressana is a beautiful, brave, and vibrant woman who has never smoked a day in her life. She is selfless and giving in every way, spending much of her spare time volunteering for P.A.T.H. (People Assisting the Homeless), as well as assisting numerous animal rescues and charities.

She is loved deeply and supported emotionally by her friends, but without any surviving family, she has to face this battle, financially, on her own. Her clients and friends know that Tressana is an amazing Realtor, who tirelessly supports and guides her clients when buying and selling, but her cancer has prevented her from working for the past 7 months. Our hope for her earliest return to work will be summer 2020 -- nearly one year of not being able to work.

We know that Tressana faces many challenges ahead - mentally, physically, and financially. As her loving community, we hope we can alleviate some of that burden for her and allow her to focus on what's important... BEATING CANCER!!!
