Help Tresa get back on her feet...No pun intended

Donation protected

Hi my name is Diana Sanchez and I am creating this GoFundMe account for my very good friend Tresa Brasell. Tresa has been having some really bad luck in the past few years and at this time she is without a job and is in rehab for one of many surgeries that she has had to endure. I asked her to write a story about her ordeal, and this is what she wrote:

I shattered the left femur bone in January 2018. The following 2 1/2 years have been a series of surgeries attempting to repair it. These 6 surgeries were not successful as the remaining femur would crack or collapse. Last August the doctor wanted to leave the last remaining bit of bone with another repair attempt. I refused as the previous attempts were unsuccessful as the unbroken femur had not broken but was obviously compromised and weakened. The doctor then said he would have to replace the hip as he was not going to open the hip joint as a partial repair. He did not want the surgery to lead to an infection in my hip. So, the hip replacement surgery was done in October 2020. While I was in surgery he did a revision on my left knee, fixing a place that was sore. I was off work almost 5 months and the healing was not progressing very well. I still went back to work. I was able to walk with a walker. It was Good Friday and I was home doing laundry. I felt some shift in my hip, and looked down and my leg seemed to be just hanging there. I could put no weight on it at all. I thought it would be ok...it was not. Had to call 911 and it was pretty obvious my legs were not same length...EMT was pretty sure I had dislocated my hip. Off I go to ER and after x-rays and CT scan my hip was in fact dislocated. They were going to put me to sleep and put it back in place. I wake up and they had been unable to get it back into place. While they were trying, they dislocated my knee. They had already contacted my Orthopedist who said he would put the hip and knee back in place surgically to make sure they were aligned. More surgery! I had the surgeries and was running into situation about being gone from work too much and was out of leave time and FMLA. I needed to be back at work by 4/29/21 as my job has a policy about missing work up to six months in 12 month period, the employee will be terminated. I was cleared to return on 4/27. I was getting ready for work that day and there was blood in shower, which had started the day before but I thought I got it stopped. I located the bleeding and it was coming from lower part of my knee incision. I could not get it to stop, had to call my supervisor and my doctor. My doctor said come to ER, which I did. They could not get it stopped and were talking more surgery. I had developed these pockets (seromas) which were filling up with blood...one in my knee area and one in my hip. My orthopedist referred me to plastic surgeon who decided to cut calf muscle and flip it around to my knee. They cut the quad muscle and flipped it to the pocket the length of my thigh. Surgery 9 and 10 on this leg completed. During this I was not able to get back to work and was terminated.

So far, the healing is progressing and hoping for more good news on Thursday. I am currently in rehab hospital working those "relocated" muscles and walking getting stronger. Thank you for the prayers and good wishes too.

Please help me get Tresa in a better place. Those of us that know her, know that she is the sweetest, funniest, most loving person in the world. And she will be totally appreciative of your kindness.

I will set it up to where donations will go directly to her bank. Thank you so much in advance. God bless you all.
