Help Trenton's Family Through Health Crisis

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Danelle Brown. I am doing this fundraiser to help my oldest son, Trenton Shannon, and his family. He has been in the hospital since Friday, August 1st, 2025, due to having a collapsed lung. But it turned into more of an issue because it wasn't improving/healing. So he had to be transferred to the Community North Hospital in Indianapolis to have surgery on his left lung. He has had chronic asthma all his life. He is 23 years old. He has his own little family that consists of his girlfriend Hailey, her 5-year-old son Branden, and their 11-month-old daughter Gwen. He is the main provider for them. He was working up until his lung collapsed on July 20th. He went to the ER, but they told him that he wasn't bad enough to admit and monitor/treat. He had been having trouble with his asthma being flared up due to the extreme heat we have been experiencing and on top of it having to work in it with his asthma too (doing heavy lifting/rushing around, etc.). After he was sent home from the ER on the 20th, he had to follow up with a pulmonologist (which was 2 days after the ER visit) and was put on restrictions immediately. He was told he could not lift 10 lbs or more for at least a month. He had put in for PTO and sick days too so he could heal safely and still have 2 or 3 paychecks to pay their rent, utilities, all other bills, plus get diapers, wipes, formula, etc. He had shown up to his work when he wasn't hearing back from his boss, so he could make sure everything was okay with his sick days. They told him that he wasn't supposed to be there and said for him to go home and get better and took the restrictions papers he had for them and gave them to HR. Later that same day, they reached out to him and let him go and said that they "cannot accommodate his restrictions," and told him to come back when he is all better and reapply and maybe he will get his job back. They also took away his sick days that they had at first approved and said they would only give him his PTO. A couple of days later, on Fri, August 1st, he started having a coughing fit and his left lung started to hurt really bad, the pain wouldn't go away and it was hard to breathe. He went to the same ER again and this time it was much worse and urgent that they had to do a procedure where they put a 14-gauge tube into his chest and into his lung, admit him and monitor everything. As each day went by, it looked as though it was healing up at first until like Mon then there were no changes. So on Tues, Aug 5th, the doctor said if it doesn't show improvement by the next day on Wed, then they would have to talk about surgery. Well, Wed, Aug 6th came with no improvement, so they transferred Trent to the Community North Hospital in Indianapolis that same day. Surgery was scheduled for the very next morning. Surgery went well. He ended up in the ICU afterward to be closely monitored. When he came out of surgery, he had 2 giant tubes in his chest and into his lung and in a LOT of pain. He's still in the hospital, stable, and being monitored entirely to make sure of proper healing and no infections, etc.

I know he and Hailey are under a tremendous amount of stress and worry at this time because of having no income anymore to be able to pay their rent, utilities, and all other bills too, plus no way to get the things they absolutely need like usual, such as diapers, wipes, toilet paper, soaps, gas, etc. You know, the normal necessities. I thought that it wouldn't hurt to try to do a GoFundMe for them so they can make it by during this extremely hard time and hopefully have less stress so Trent can heal peacefully and be able to get back on his feet again. It will be a few months at the least before he is completely healed and hopefully able to work again. They are terrified of losing their home and everything. If anyone could please donate to help my son and his young family during this time, it would be so very much appreciated more than you could ever imagine. The rest of their family and I have been doing what all we can to help, but are only able to do so much. He has signed up for unemployment but even if he gets approved it still won't be enough to make it each month ($200/wk). So we are reaching out to ask for help for Trent and his family in this dire time.
Thank You & God Bless
