This is Trenta, a two-year-old rescued by my kind friends and TNR people. Trenta and her twin sister, Twinsies, came to live with me around Christmas 2023. Update from 11/4:
Trenta suddenly fell gravely ill a few days before Halloween. She had shown no previous symptoms. Her rescuer has helped with the emergency hospital visits--the only option around here--but she continues to fight. It's either FIP, which is highly treatable, or lymphoma, which may not be. Her kidneys are swollen and there is a granuloma in her intestines.
We are being asked for more tests and palliative care. She has fight in her and being so young, her chances are good. We are tapped out of money and had to bring her home to await test results. Our local vets no longer house cats overnight, so the hospital is our only option other than home care.
I'm asking for help to cover her current and future health costs, even if it ends up being end-of-life care. Her sister, Twinsies, and her brother, Mario, are pictured here with her. Twinsies is healthy and old man Mario is, too. I am hoping they all get to grow even older together. Thank you.
UPDATE 11/4/2025: Thank you for your donations! Trenta is home with more medications. She will need careful observation and a follow-up with a vet in a week. She needs an IV from me once a day, antibiotics, appetite stimulants, and an expensive course of medication for FIP. She is still weak and scared, but at least she's drinking water and trying some things like Delectables, Churru, and nutrient paste.
