(Traducción en español abajo)
5 year-old Mateo has been diagnosed with Difuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). It is a highly aggressive and difficult to treat brain tumor located at the base of his brain. There is still no effective treatment and no chance of survival. Only 10% of children with DIPG survive for 2 years following their diagnosis, and less than 1% survive for 5 years. The median survival time is 9 months from diagnosis. The medications that can be tried outside of trials are extremely expensive and not covered by insurance. We would like to reach out to everyone to help His parents, Alexander and Paloma Sparkman with the meds and anything that can make his life more pleasant. Also, the saddest part to say is that there are also funeral expenses. Any funds remaining after covering the family's needs will be donated to a leading researcher in the field of DIPG (to be determined) Possible candidates: St. Jude's, Stanford Children's Health (Moonshot4kids), Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center. We greatly appreciate anything you can donate.
(por definir) Posibles candidatos: St. Jude's, Stanford Children's Health (Moonshot4kids), Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center. We greatly appreciate anything you can donate.
