Help Treasa build her Age in Place Tiny Home Dream

Hello!
Thank you for having an open & generous heart and for taking the time to seek out to support those who need a bit of assistance and kindness from their fellow human beings!
I am reaching out to all those who love gardening & feeding people; who appreciate sustainable/green living; who value being an integral part of a community; and who understand the need to ensure that you, a friend, or a loved one is able to have the security of a safe, healthy home to “age in place”.

This is the need and dream for my dear friend Treasa VanEaton.
Treasa is a 58 yr old woman trying to acquire a home located between her aging parents (she needs to be closer to be available for them at any given moment) and her children & grandchild.  Treasa is hard-working, responsible, frugal, kind, generous, thoughtful and a passionate gardener and nature lover/protector. Her biggest dream is to live a simple little life and to grow wholesome food to share with those in need. She strives (sometimes to her own disadvantage) to take care of her family, her children and grandchild, her geriatric kitties, her friends and her coworkers. She never expects anything in return and never asks for help. She was taught to do things on her own, but this one thing-the most important of her life-is just too big for her to do alone.
She was raised on and adheres to the philosophy (passed down by her Dad) that “if you can’t pay for it with cash, then (by gosh!) you just can’t have it- that’s just the way it is. “Don’t borrow or put it on credit and if you do, don’t EVER default on your responsibility to pay it back!”
Integrity is at the very core of who she strives to be & how she strives to conduct herself.
Thus, the act of reaching out is EXTREMELY difficult for her, but she realizes this is the only chance to escape the increasing danger happening where she lives (she’s been chased twice on her walks to work-once with a broken beer bottle) and no longer feels safe or housing secure (they’re turning her apt into condos & pricing her out). This move will also allow her the ability to help her folks.

That is why I have decided to try to seek out kindness and generosity from others to help her get into a modest 640 square foot home that is tucked into a little piece of Salem OR in a safe, sustainable/green community that includes a community garden and that will allow her to age in place while she helps her parents do the same.  Her greatest fear is to not be able to secure stable housing that will allow her to avoid being a burden later down the road for children or be put in an institution.

Treasa is very close to being able to achieve this goal but without a (your) miracle, that goal may slip away as she is $13000 shy of having enough to make this simple, modest home a reality. I want with all my heart to see Treasa’s dream come true.
When I shared with Treasa my idea to do this fund raiser she immediately said “so many others are in more need!” She also said if I do go forward with this she would “happily share her vegetables or a meal from the garden with those who donate,” AND “be eternally humbled, grateful & include you in her prayers of pure appreciation & gratitude; NEVER forgetting the generosity and always paying the kindness back in every way she can.” There is PURE humility at the core of this statement.

If your heart is calling to give a little to help a dream come true, please consider donating to help Treasa raise $13000 for the closing costs. It’s the last piece standing between her and safety, stability & being a vital part of a community & growing food to help those in need.
Dream/ Goal is to raise $13000 by April 30,2021.
