Travis Roehl has Keratoconus, a degenerative condition that causes the cornea to thin and bulge outward into a cone shape. Long story short, this has progressed in both of Travis’ eyes and will now require corneal transplantation to avoid permanent blindness.
Currently, Travis is in fairly constant pain and has very little sight. He is unable to drive or work. He should be having his first corneal transplant after the first of the year. He will then have a minimum 6 month recovery before the second transplant can be done. That will also require a long recovery and even as eyesight returns, it will be intermittent.
Each surgery is about $13,000. Insurance will cover a fair amount, but there will be out of pocket expenses, in addition to living expenses while he is unable to work. He is attempting to get disability, but that is a long and tedious process and bills don’t stop and wait.
ANY assistance would be helpful and truly appreciated! Regardless of your ability to offer financial assistance, Travis and his family deeply cherish your prayers.
