Even warriors need help. Now is that time.
My brother, Travis Smith, was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer last October, 2024, at a very young 47 years old. He is a warrior and has documented his fight on social media (#nepcwarrior). You can follow his journey on Facebook and Instagram . He has shared his battle honestly and is a light to all who follow him.
Travis is a mighty man and is supported by his sweet, strong wife, Amy, and their four young adult children. He has the biggest heart of anyone I know. He is a warrior, but also a big teddy bear. A “Travis hug” heals your soul. He loved sharing the joy of Christmas by dressing as Santa until his cancer diagnosis.
Travis recently received a devastating blow. The cancer is not only throughout his bones, but has spread to his liver, lungs, gut, and spleen. So far, he has been able to fund his cancer battle by working and using the money they were saving to buy a house. Eventually, he will be transitioning to long-term disability. Bills from his recent hospitalization are overwhelming, and in the future he will have to pay very expensive COBRA premiums to be able to keep his amazing care team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is still fighting!
Funds raised will pay for medical bills for his cancer treatments and for his future COBRA medical insurance payments so he can keep fighting and give some peace of mind to Amy by not draining all of their savings that she will eventually depend on.
