Help Travis Recover from Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
This past fall, dad had an unexpected artery blockage in his right leg and had to have bypass surgery. The surgery went well but the incision got infected with MRSA and he had to quarantine at home for months and recover. He was healing well and they felt comfortable doing a stent on his left leg last month for another blockage. He was almost a month post-op and feeling well enough to drive to South Carolina to see his son Will graduate from his program in the Navy. They decided to stop half-way to sleep for the night, but he woke up in the morning in pain and went to the emergency room in Alabama where they had stopped. After more testing they found a blockage in his left leg above where he had just had the stent put in. They decided to fly him to a larger hospital in Birmingham and do emergency surgery to save his leg. After opening him up, they found multiple blockages and had to put in a lot more work than anticipated.
He's going to have a long road ahead of him and unsure when he will even be well enough to travel home. Surgery, helicopter rides, and hospital stays are going to add up very quickly. We're asking for any help you can give to the Grogan family. Let's take care of the man who is always and has always taken care of others.
