My name is Travis, and I’m starting this fundraiser for myself, my girlfriend, her sister, and our two dogs after an apartment fire turned our lives upside down. Thankfully, nothing directly burned in our unit, but the apartment was left completely soaked, and nearly everything we own has been ruined. Right now, we are assuming most of it will not be salvageable because of the water damage and likely mold. We are still waiting to hear what insurance and Red Cross may be able to help with, but we already know we have lost so many of the basic things we depend on every day.

We lost almost all of our essentials, including clothes, furniture, electronics, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, bathroom items, and pet supplies. With school starting next week, this has become even more urgent. We need to replace school supplies like laptops, lab coats, scrub pants, notebooks, pens, pencils, and bookbags so we can get back to class and work with as little downtime as possible. Our dogs also lost their food, bowls, beds, crates, carriers, toys, and treats. We do have a place to stay for now, but we will most likely need to sign a new lease soon and cover those fees while trying to rebuild from scratch.

We felt so much love even through the devastation, and our hearts are still with everyone else who went through this experience with us. If you are able to help, any support will go toward replacing the essentials we need most and helping us get back to some sense of stability during this stressful time.
