Help Travis Rebuild

Hi, my name is Kate and I’m fundraising for my friend, Travis Winkleman. Travis has a heart of gold - he does good deeds every day for folks that have a hard time doing for themselves. He routinely mows and landscapes for the elderly, people that are sick, and others that are just down on their luck … he does it for free most of the time, out of the kindness of his heart.

He was featured just recently on WNYT Channel 13 News (Albany, NY) for his work taking care of the Protestant Evangelical Cemetery on Krumkill Road. He saw a news story about how overgrown the cemetery was, and he’s been taking care of it since then with a small team of volunteers. All of this on his own dime. Many of the people buried there are Veterans and Travis thought they deserved more respect than a poorly maintained cemetery.

Today, Travis’ Jeep caught fire and was destroyed as he drove home from an early morning mowing job. Luckily Travis was not hurt and he was able to get his mower and trailer out of harm’s way … but now he has no vehicle to get to the cemetery or any of the jobs he has lined up in the community.

Travis has never hesitated to help anyone his entire life. And he gives without any expectation of anything in return. To see this fire happen to a man like him is absolutely heartbreaking. I’m not asking for much - any small amount will help Travis get back on his feet and restore his faith in people being good to each other simply because it’s the right thing to do.
