Help Travis Pay for Medical Treatment & Expenses
On Tuesday, December 7, 2021 Travis Amato concluded his lunch break from his work painting and began driving back to the day's jobsite. On this drive a car struck the passenger side of Travis's vehicle at approximately 45 mph causing his vehicle to roll over upside down, trapping Travis inside with severe lacerations and injuries to his chest, neck, and face. Emergency personnel arrived and extracted him from the smashed vehicle, rushing him to The University of Missouri's University Hospital whereupon immediate, life-saving surgery was performed on his neck and face. Physical assessments that followed determined that he also broke several ribs and a tooth. After spending the night in the hospital's pre-operation unit, surgeons next went to work on Travis's right eye where the shattered windshield had cut deeply through his eyebrow and eyelid along with embedding numerous shards of glass in and around his eye. He has since been discharged and is recovering at home. Follow-up appointments are scheduled with both surgical teams this month to evaluate his healing and to determine if any further operations are needed.
Travis has no medical insurance to help pay the medical bills presently associated with this accident, as well as those to come.
Once his face has healed enough to allow for such, Travis will require oral surgery for his broken tooth, potentially even a root canal. He has no dental insurance to help with such costs.
Additionally, the injuries he sustained in this accident and their limitations on his vision and mobility will prevent him from returning to work and generating an income for the immediate future.
On top of healing, these facts are weighing on him heavily. Please assist Travis and show your support for his recovery by donating.
Thank you so very much!!
