Hello, my name is Travis Verbeke and I'm a type 1 diabetic. Over the past 3 years, my health has declined and gotten increasingly worse over the 2024 year. I currently have full kidney failure on top of severe neuropathy in both of my legs that cause me great pain and the inability to feel my feet. I'm also diagnosed with severe gastroparesis, which means my intestines are currently partly paralyzed, and I sometimes have bathroom issues that I don't like to talk about. I currently take 15 pills every morning just to keep my body from giving up on itself and to help stem the tide of pain. Recently, my doctors have told me that due to the kidney failure, I'm starting to show signs of early-stage congestive heart failure.
I am currently on hold on a transplant waiting list because I don't have a reliable support system to help me after surgery and to help with transport. I am also still looking for a donor kidney; my blood type is O-.
I currently am not allowed to work and am homebound. I have to do dialysis every night in order to stay alive. I am on disability, and my boyfriend is helping the most he can, but it's too much for just one person to handle. I am finally reaching out for help because I don't know what else to do. I am not one to ask for help because I feel at my age I should be providing for others, not the other way around.
The money this raises will help go to bills for me and moving costs to be able to live closer to the hospital for easier transport. If you can't donate, that's okay, but if you could share this with as many people as you can, that would mean the world to me. Thank you so much for your time and effort. I will give normal monthly updates on my health and how life is going for me.
