Help Travis Jette

To anyone who is reading this:
My name is Steve Ray, and I have worked with Travis Jette for the last 7 years at The Automaster BMW.  Travis is an amazing person who has  always had a positive influence on every one there. He was always the guy who would help others, and never ask for anything in return. He was always up for any challenge or task and would never back out of it or make excuses as to why he couldn't. He is such a caring and selfless friend who always has a smile, and always has your back.

As most of you now know, Travis was recently involved in a horrific car accident.  As he was heading back from his lunch break to his new job at Vermont Sports Car, he was involved in a head on collision.  It was speculated the driver of  the other vehicle may have had a medical issue, which led him to veer into Travis's lane. The vehicles hit head on at 50mph, causing Travis's car to roll into the steep nearby ditch.  It took rescue workers over 45 mins to get him out of his car, which he was trapped in. He was sent by ambulance to UVM  medical center, where he has remained in the intensive care unit. The medical staff concluded that he has broken 7 broken bones including both femurs. He shattered his right heel and has internal bruising of his heart, lungs, and liver. He recently underwent two extensive surgeries to get his leg bones pinned back together. His heel was repaired, and rods were installed into his femurs from his knee caps.

Just when everybody thought things were starting to look up, the medical staff found some blood clots in his lungs. He has started blood thinners for this, but will ultimately need more scans and will have to stay in the hospital even longer.

We all are hoping and praying that Travis will fully heal and recover quickly,  but this will be a long path of recovery for him. With doctor visits, treatment, surgeries, the hospital stay, rehab, transportation, and wheel chairs, and the fact that he will be out of work for an indefinite amount of time, Travis and his family could use some help. He has helped out so many in their times of need- including stepping in for his family when his mom tragically passed away around 10 years ago. It was Travis who stepped up to help his dad in any way possible, and to help raise his sisters. He has always been so family oriented.

I know Travis is not going to back down from this challenge that lays in front of him. I know he will work as hard as he can to get back on two feet so he can enjoy his life again and spend time with his father, his sisters, and his wonderful girlfriend Brittney. When he recovers he will enjoy riding his 4 wheeler and his motorcycle, and playing with his dogs. He will get a second chance to live his life.

I am asking every one that can, to please consider donating to help him and his family during this very difficult time. He would never ask for help himself, but he has helped so many in their time of need. Now it is our turn to give back and help him.

My heart goes out to everyone involved in this horrific accident, and a huge thank you to everyone who has helped in assisting to Travis long recovery- Fire, police and rescue, EMT staff, the UVM medical center staff, and of course Travis family who have been sure to not leave his side since this has happened.
